The contestants and finalists of 2009 Miss Earth Beauty Pageant will be having their showdown to compete their talent and beauties on the grand coronation night of November 22, 2009 at Boracay Ecovillage and Convention Center, Aklan.
There are 90 contestants of the most prestigious beauty pageant and Aheu Deng of Sudan stands 6 feet and 5 inches is the tallest among the candidates.
The new crown is designed by Ramona Haar, an environmentalist jewelry designer from Florida which is the official jeweler of Miss Earth pageant.
The crown is 100 percent made of recycled precious metals comprised of 14 karat gold and argentums sterling silver. The gemstones of this crown were donated from over 80 different participating countries. These are gemstones that each country is known for either as the origin of its source and were sent in various forms. The designer traveled to Jaipur, India just to have these gemstones individually trimmed and faceted to the required cut and sizes.
Karla Henry of the Philippines is the reigning Miss Earth, the first Asian to win the title.
This year's Philippine representative to the contest is Sandra Seifert, a Filipino-German and the first non-native born Philippine delegate.
