The 2010 Miss America Pageant with 53 contestants in its 89th year anniversary commences Saturday night at Planet Hollywood Resort and in Casino, Las Vegas, 8pm EST.
Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron, 22 and a broadcast Journalism student of Virginia Commonwealth University after strutting in her skintight yellow dress won the title "Miss America 2010" with a $50,000 scholarship award. Cameron was crowned by Katie Stam of Indiana, Miss America 2009 while Miss California Kristy Cavinder was the first runner-up and was awarded $25,000.
Cameron, Cavinder and Miss Michigan Nicole Blaszczyk each won $2,000 for the talent portion during the preliminary nominations while Miss Oregon CC Barber, Miss New York Alyse Zwick and Miss Puerto Rico Mimi Pabon each won $1,000 in the swimsuit competitions.
The pageant was hosted by Mario Lopez and the judges were Vivica A. Fox, Katie Harman, Shawn Johnson, Dave Koz, Rush Limbaugh, Paul Rodriguez and Brooke White. Clinton Kelly a renowned gentleman of his clothing sensation and fashion also attended the Miss America Pageant show "Behind the Curtain" which will be telecasted in his program "What Not to Wear".
